RE: What am I missing??
You are missing warm weather in January and Feb. You are missing sleeping in your own bed and having all your own stuff. You are missing the 'community' that an RV park provides with returning friends each year.
RE: High Test gas gets MUCH better MPG
I have a 2008 F-350 with the V-10 engine and it says right in the owners manual that there is 'no advantage' to running premium fuel.
RE: Tight Bridge
Don't forget the mirrors. Even when folded in they will still stick out a couple of inches. Also if the unit has any kind of wrap around bumper it may be a problem.
RE: No awning on slide???
Agree with other poster. Have not had slide toppers on last two trailers over 5 years and never a problem. If I am parked under pine trees or heavily treed area I will go up and push off the debris.
RE: Has anyone had Lazy Days deliver your new motorhome to you ?
I think these are questions you should direct to Lazy Days and get an answer in writing particularly as it pertains to insurance and any damage. Remember someonne drives these things from the factory to the dealers so it has been 'delivered' already once with hopefully no problems. I would also make sure that the 'driver' does not use the MH in any way other than driving it.
RE: How slow is unsafe?
I think driving 55 on a mountain 2 lane road is prudent in a large motor home particularly if one is not familiar with the road or driving in the mountains.
RE: Anyone Else Packing the Clothes Yet?
Since we are full timing we just hook up and leave on October 29th for arrival in Dunedin Florida for 6 months.
RE: Warranty claim Question
Do you want the Chevy dealer fixing a part of the coach. Just chill out and take it to a Chevy dealer as it should be covered under the Chevy warranty. No big deal.
RE: Emergency Roadside Assistance Nightmare
Seems to me that slamming GS for not responding to a flat in your own driveway is more than a little unfair. I fail to see how a flat in your driveway equates to 'Emergency Roadside Assistance'. Seems more like a maintenance issue to me.
RE: V10 owner question
I have a 2008 F-350 SRW Crew Cab with the 30 valve V-10 and 4:30 gear. Get 14-15 mpg empty if I keep my foot out of it and 8-9 while towing a heavy 5er. It is an excellent tow machine and the tranny engine braking works fantastically well. I also have the integrated brake controller and highly recommend it.
RE: snow on roof
I have never observed a dealer anywhere in Ontario Canada removing snow from the roof of their inventory. You would do more harm up there removing it and it is dangerous. Your trailer will survive a winter. Thousands of trailers are in storage with lots of snow on them.
RE: Do you use your washing/dryer machine?
We have the stackable Sears models and would never be without them. Every RV we have will have a washer and dryer.
RE: Electrical Problem
Had the same problem earlier this year. Found that inside my battery compartment was a very small circuit breaker for the batteries. It is just a small white button. Pressed it and eveything was good again. Might want to check to see if you have this. Keep in mind it is very small.
RE: Did I goof up??
I think putting D's on an F-250 is a big mistake. You will be all over the road when towing. Side wall are not very robust for that truck.
RE: City water hook up leakā¦
The fresh water fill and check valve are very easy to replace and not expensive. Usually 3 screws to hold the inlet and valve in place, remove the old inlet and valve and install the new one. This is a 10 minute job with a screwdriver. Have done it a couple of times. The check valve is just usually cheapo plastic. They can just get stuck or something stuck in them too.
RE: Temporary snowbird from Michigan
You will be hard pressed to get reservations in the Fort Myers Beach area. We have reservations at the Red Coconut starting December 31 and they are booked solid right through to April. We tried to extend our stay past Feb 23rd and absolutely nothing available as of Monday this week.
RE: Heat Pumps
We have the heat pump/AC in our Mobile Suites and absolutely love it. Works down to about 35 degrees and then turns on the furnace automatically. In the morning when it warms up a bit it switches back on to heat pump. We use very little propane. Would never be without one.
